THE JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER Established for the promotion of a higher culture among its members and for their unification in a liberal organization which shall tend to advance their moral. intellectual and social improvement. To use every means possible to inculcate and teach those ideals of democracy which will develop an undivided feeling of loyalty and patriotism to our Country, State and Community.

PRESENTATION of SCROLL OF THE LAW
INTRODUCTION Throughout the centuries, the Torah has been our compass that pointed to the Jewish way of' life. Despite countless centuries of strife and endless persecution our nation has remained a potent and virile donator to world culture, because it was our "Tree of Life." Therefore it is only fitting and proper that the presentation of the Scroll of the Law should take place on this, our Day of Dedication, to inject that spiritual element in our exercises needed to make this edifice more than mere lime, bricks, and mortar--but rather our SPIRITUAL CENTER.
A song at the dedication of the house of David: I will extol Thee. 0 Lord. for Thou hast raised me up,And hast not suffered mine enemies to rejoice over me. 0 Lord my God, I cried unto Thee, and Thou didst heal me. 0 Lord, Thou broughtest up my soul from the nether world; Thou didst keep me alive. that I should not go down to the pit. Sing praises unto the Lord, 0 ye His godly ones, And give thanks to His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may tarry for the night. But joy cometh in the morning. Now I said in my security: 'I shall never be moved'. Thou hadst established, 0 Lord. in Thy favor, my mountain as a stronghold; Thou didst hide Thy face; I was affrighted. Unto Thee. 0 Lord did I call, And unto the Lord I made supplication: 'What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit ? 'Shall the dust praise Thee? Shall it declare Thy truth? 'Hear, 0 Lord, and be gracious unto me; 'Lord, be Thou my helper.' Thou didst turn for me my mourning into dancing; Thou didst loose my sackcloth, and gird me with gladness So that my glory may sing praise to Thee and not be silent; 0 Lord my God, I will give thanks unto Thee for ever Amen
A MESSAGE FROM OUR TREASURER I am very glad to see the completion of the Jewish Community Center and be at its dedication. This is indeed a very happy occasion and a great achievement for our people and I wish to sincerely thank every one who helped to make it possible. May long live the Center in harmony and peace.
